A bit about us.

Mrs Carnegie has been teaching for over 16 years mainly at schools in London before moving to Hertfordshire where she settled with her two children.  She has a ‘Masters in CPD for School Improvement’ which has given her a greater depth of knowledge into the education system. She loves playing tennis and spending time with her family and pet dog.

Miss Abeysundera was born in Sri Lanka and taught in Enfield schools for a long time and supplied for Hertfordshire County Council last year. She is a nature lover and enjoys walking. She is also a cricket enthusiast.

Reading books:

Reading books will be changed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If any parent would like to offer to help change the books, Miss Morris would very grateful. Please let us know. Children will be given 1 or 2 books at a time. 10 minutes of reading a day is great. Don’t forget to ask lots of questions about the text.

All of our foundation subjects will be taught through one topic which, until Christmas is ‘All about me’’. If you have any ‘special knowledge’ or items you would be willing to share with us for this topic (e.g. books), we would be really grateful. Please could you bring into school a photo of your child as a baby. These will be returned to you at the end of the topic.

Class rules:

ü  look after your own and school’s belongings

ü  we say kind things to each other

ü  we try our best and help each other to learn

The merit system is no longer in use this year. Instead there will be a ‘Star of the Week’ in each class across the school, where Mrs. Simpson will be looking at a particular area (this week – E-Safety) and House Points will be given out too.
