KEY STAGE 2 ATTAINMENT INFORMATION

Please find below a table showing the KS2 test results for children leaving Year 6 in the summer of 2017.  The table provides comparative data with national figures where this is available. Our results were for a very small cohort of 12 children; it must therefore be borne in mind that every child is represented by  8.3% and so each one has a significant impact on the figures.  This was a cohort with a diverse range of learning needs; half of them had not been with us right through from reception, with 4 joining us at different points in Key Stage 2.  With our commitment to quality teaching and learning, they made good progress.  However some did not reach the standard required to achieve the national benchmark of ‘Age Related Expectations’.  In the maths ‘SATs’ test situation, two of the children did not quite hit their targets and so the maths percentage is lower than usual.  In contrast, a small group was working at a very high level and the therefore the percentage of 33% exceeds the national figure considerably.

At Tewin Cowper, we value every aspect of a child’s learning and development: academically, physically, spiritually, morally and socially.  Our commitment to quality teaching and learning is underpinned by our Christian values and the ethos of every child being happy, safe, motivated and challenged to do their best and make the most of every opportunity across the curriculum, not just in English and maths.  The end of year results shown above are one-dimensional and do not reflect the individuality of every child or our holistic, enriching provision that helps them to grow and develop their creativity, social skills, physical development and enjoyment and motivation in their learning.
